Psychotherapie Psychotherapie is zinvol bij heel wat emotionele, psychische en zelfs lichamelijke klachten. Een psychotherapeut probeert samen met jou een beeld te krijgen van je verhaal, je klachten en je hulpvragen. De psychotherapeut helpt je om op een draagbare manier emoties te voelen, te kijken naar jezelf en inzichten te krijgen. Samen ga je op zoek naar achterliggende emoties, terugkerende patronen en uiteraard naar oplossingen om je beter te voelen. Het is belangrijk dat je een goede klik voelt met je therapeut. Binnen de psychotherapie bestaan verschillende richtingen waardoor niet alle therapeuten op dezelfde manier werken. De Kronkel biedt (cognitieve) gedragstherapie, gezins- en relatietherapie, integratieve en creatieve therapie. We maken samen een inschatting welke therapievorm het beste bij jou en je hulpvraag past. Soms wordt er ook met meerder psychotherapeuten samengewerkt. De regelmaat van afspraken is afhankelijk van jouw gevoel. Een neuropsychiater is niet hetzelfde als een kinderpsychiater! Een neuropsychiater werkt zowel met kinderen als volwassenen en is gespecialiseerd in psychische problemen met een neurobiologische oorzaak, waaronder ook ontwikkelingsstoornissen (ASS, ADHD, DCD, …). Een medisch onderzoek is een noodzakelijke stap in een diagnostisch onderzoek naar ADHD, ASS en DCD. Daarnaast kan je bij de neuropsychiater, kinder- en jeugdpsychiater of kinderneuroloog ook terecht voor opvolging van vb. medicatie. Rechtstreekse aanmelding bij onze artsen is niet mogelijk. Je kan enkel aanmelden, indien je ook bij ons aanmeldt voor diagnostiek en/of therapie. Logopedisten houden zich bezig met alle uitingsvormen van taal, waaronder gesproken taal, lezen en schrijven, gebaren, maar ook ondersteunde communicatiesystemen. Logopedisten geven niet alleen individuele therapie maar verzorgen ook ouderbegeleiding (in groep of individueel). In de Kronkel bieden we logopedie aan voor: Lezen en spellen Rekenen Taal Stem Articulatie Slikken Afasie Voor stotteren verwijzen we door naar een gespecialiseerde logopedist-stottertherapeut. De Kronkel is een erkend multidisciplinair team (met inbegrip van een audioloog en neuskeeloorarts) dat bevoegd is om een diagnose dysfasie te stellen (volgens de voorwaarde gesteld in het M-decreet). We zijn een van de weinige praktijken in Vlaanderen waar ook twee neurolinguïsten werken. Neurolinguïsten zijn gespecialiseerd in het diagnostisch onderzoek naar (complexe) taalontwikkelingsstoornissen, dyslexie en afasie. Al bewegend en spelend worden de mogelijkheden en vaardigheden van je spieren, zintuigen en motoriek uitgebreid. Kinderen leren zich uitdrukken, de ruimte verkennen en zich erin oriënteren. De focus ligt op het ontwikkelen van planningvaardigheden en een efficiënte studiehouding. We geven geen gewone bijles maar door te werken met eigen studiemateriaal van de student, is er wel onmiddellijk een nuttige opbrengst. We proberen nieuwe en succesvolle studiestrategieën aan te leren en hoe ze ingezet kunnen worden tijdens het studeren. Er is ook aandacht voor andere, schoolgerelateerde problemen zoals faalangst, werkhouding en motivatie. We proberen een goede balans te vinden tussen tijdsbesteding en studierendement. Het doel is om gewapend te zijn met een efficiënte studiemethode waarmee je glansrijk doorheen je studiecarrière loopt. We hebben ruime ervaring met jongeren met leerstoornissen of andere ontwikkelingsstoornissen. Zij ondervinden vaak moeite met het zelfstandig studeren of met het verwerken van grote hoeveelheden. Onze therapeuten hebben naast De Kronkel vaak een andere werkplek binnen (buitengewoon) onderwijs, de revalidatiesector, de bijzondere jeugdzorg, of in een ziekenhuis. Als toch blijkt dat we niet over de nodige expertise beschikken, verwijzen we door of werken we samen met andere hulpverleners in het zorglandschap. Toch zijn er ook problematieken waarin we geen of onvoldoende expertise hebben. Doorheen de jaren hebben we een groot netwerk van zorgverleners in de ruime omgeving opgebouwd waarmee we goed samenwerken. Doorverwijzers We vinden het altijd fijn om op een collegiale manier samen te werken met andere hulpverleners uit de regio zoals huisartsen, logopedisten, kinesisten. Doorverwijzingen gebeuren in twee richtingen. We danken hulpverleners voor het vertrouwen dat ze in ons stellen bij een doorverwijzing, maar we verwijzen op onze beurt ook graag cliënten voor een begeleiding dichter bij huis. We proberen dit steeds te doen met respect voor de cliënt en zijn privacy. Als expertisecentrum voor ontwikkelingsstoornissen bij kinderen én volwassenen is De Kronkel intussen uitgegroeid tot een gevestigde waarde in De Kempen en ruime omgeving. Dit heeft echter ook gevolgen voor de wachttijd die soms oploopt tot een jaar (of langer).
